A4, 1.8T

with the somewhat lukewar reaction many of us who have driven the new a4
have had, does anyone know for certain when the A4 1.8 turbo will arive?  
The couple of sales people I've spoken to say "a long time," "quite a 
while," etc.

Now it just may be sales folk trying to move the current product, or it 
may be true.

By the way, what relationship, if any, is there between the thread 
running a week or so ago about turbos and '96 EPA stuff about on-board 
diagnostics and the availability of a turbo '96?  If the S6 was not 
certified for '96 how can the A6 1.8 be; or was that just a marketing 
decision by Audi?
