Coupe Quattro

Does anyone have any ideas about reducing the engine speed on the Coupe
Quattros' to something more normal (like my '86 5000TQ, '90 200TQ, or even
my '83 Quattro) or should I just suffer with the engine buzzing along at
4000 rpm to do 80mph? Has anybody done a tranny or gear swap? What about a
poor man's overdrive....say 215-60-15 tires?

I've noticed that the computer indicates my fuel consumption has gone up a
lot recently, when accelerating.  Is this the tell tale sign of a bad oxygen
sensor? I have never seen this before on my other cars and the highway
mileage is the same.
I'm currently doing 27-29 MPG on the highway with an average speed of 70.
My turbo cars have done  in the 30's so I'm curious.
