Radio Dillema

Hello again, fellow Audiphiles,

I am the proud owner of a 1988 Audi 90 Quattro, and I recently disconnected the
battery cables in order to clean the terminals.

Well, the terminals are now clean, but the radio refuses to work, due to the
theft-protection features built into the radio.

It is my understanding that some radios come with a manufacturer assigned code,
and others have codes that are assigned by the owner. My Audi is equiped with
the later, and the previous owner of my automobile set the code, and neglected
to inform me of it when I bought the car.

My local dealership instructs me to try "1111" , and if that does not work, I
must REPLACE the entire radio. (!)

So, if anyone has ideas on how I can overcome this dillema, I am all ears.

Thanks in advance-
