Because it's a nice annoying reminder that you might be getting ready to 
do damage to some really expensive REALLY hard to get to pieces parts.  
And when your running at night it's really annoying.  On eundurance cars 
the light is set at a lower RPM than in a sprint race to help "preserve" 
the motor..... But if your in a dice for position "to hell with the light!"
