Story, indeed. I believe a 144 can do towing (it feels like it is even when it 
isn't ;) ), but the part about racing a 142 ... :) :)

No flames- really just kidding. Owned both, almost did the IPD thing. Then
almost did a crazier thing- modify the Alfetta sedan. Almost got hooked.

But now I see the truth- get a TQ, add some IA, enjoy surprising my 
soon-never-to-be passengers, and  get one of those bumper stickers 
that say, "Get in, shut up, and HOLD ON!".  Well, maybe not the latter. 
Did I tell you about the time my mother-in-law ripped the upper grab handles 
off during one of my turns? One of my memorable, awkward moments, totally
self-inflicted (I laughed a little too hard).  She took the humor pretty
well, but, as my passenger, she was never the same since. It's wasn't
intentional, really. I forget she's back there ... and I go into auto-pilot
... and then, BAM!, my wife slugs me. I tell you- no respect ;) !
