Graydon, I see you have a CSTQ. If these are like the ur-Q ignition,
they *are* crank-fired and the VarioCam will not screwup the
ignition timing. You can rotate the distributor, within limits, and
there will be no change in timing, the same effect if you were to
vary the cam timing. Now, does the CSTQ have the same ignition
setup as the ur-Q?
