I think I qualify as one of those mAols. IME the Fox has been the *best*
Audi I own. I understand that there were some problems with the older
cars, but the '78 model is a jewel. The K-jetronic FI makes that little
1.6l motor pretty responsive, as well as simplifying the vacuum routing
under the hood. Good simple, basic car (no turbo, no fancy climate control,
etc) ... hell my '78's got the original high-beam switch (relating it to
my current peeve). I'm not getting rid of the urQ or the 5kQ, but I
think Audi's got more cars than the old Foxes to look back upon and learn
from. I think Audi has learned some things (e.g. WC turbos), and I guess
silly Americans require all of the bells & whistles.
