News Group, Not!
Hi Everybody,
I've been subscribed on the Audi group for going on about 4 years or so now.
I'm not sure
when this group all started, but I consider myself an old timer (Dont know if
thats good or bad :-)).
When I joined I was reading rec.autos.vw, rec.autos.general or whatever it
was..... There
was some good technical info and some good occasional banter. But for the most
part more
than half or probably more like 60-70% of it what was flamming. It wasn't worth
the time to
sift for good stuff, somewhere along the line somebody mentioned the Audi
Group. Might of
been Andrew Duane......
Linus Toy just sent a good post that captured a lot of reasons why we shoud
leave well enough
alone.
I think the success of the calendar deal from Hong Kong say's a lot about the
group. Some
people took leaps of faith forking out cash up front. I didn't here about
anyone getting
screwed in the deal. I think that say's a lot about a bunch of people who most
have never
met face to face. (Thanks Bob Houk :-)
I'm not sure about how News Groups work, But currently the group as whole
pretty much has
control. Dan does an outstanding job of keeping everything working and having
votes about
any proposed changes. I applaude you Dan!
Som my vote if were counting is NO for News Group.
Getting of my soapbox...... :-)

P.S. Anybody want to buy a really nice 89 100 :-)
