Wish that were so--saw the post, as you say, it was a good post, but I can't
claim authorship. That post was Eddi Jew's.  well stated.

Since we're on topic:  I can't claim 4 year membership--only about 6 months.
 I've perused r.a.vw but never got into it consistently--primarily because of
the low signal/noise ratio.  I definitely prefer the mailing list--as many
have pointed out, we have a community here.  I recall we had this discussion
a few months ago--with many of the same points.  Can we put this one to bed
(again?  I'm sure it'll come up again, but at least for now?)
