Re: Brake Pad Warning Light

     Hi,

I had the exact same problem - light is on, but plenty of pad left.
The sensor wires on the pads themselves actually corroded and fell
off, first on the driver's side, then on the pass side. The solution
was to short the two sensor wires on each side manually, and watch the
pad wear periodically (which should be done anyways - my wife's 90 100
wore out the outside pads before the inner pads had a chance to wear
     to sensor's trigger point).

When I lost both sensor wires, I had been using Quick Silver wheel
cleaner, so it is possible that the acid corroded the wires
     prematurely.

Hi,
First I want to thank those who responded to my request for
some general info on my recently purchased '92 CSQW. No, it's
not for sale. A Quattro wagon is a very rare beast here in
Albuquerque and we plan on hanging on to it for quite a while.
It's running great except that it thinks that it needs new
brake pads (the brake pad warning light keeps coming on). It
just turned 42K miles and the brake pads front and rear appear
to have plenty of life left. How do I convince it that it's
making a mistake without offending the Audi gods?
Thanks,
Steve
