'91 200 Turbo for sale

Dropped by the HBL dealership in Tyson's Corner, VA at lunchtime today. They
have a silver '91 200 Turbo, 57K miles. The car is beautiful, inside & out. I
looked under it, kicked the tires, looked at the engine compartment, all looks
well, EXCEPT: I think it was in an accident. Or, the car has some problems
the dealer doens't want anyone to see. There were several connectors lying
around unplugged (I was going around and pluging them all back in as the
salesman was kinda staring over my shoulder) and the level of Pentosin was well
below the min level. All the paint matched though, so maybe it wasn't in an
accident. The drive belts were worn BADLY. However the engine compartment was
so clean you could eat off it. I didn't bother driving it, much less starting
it (no 20 valve, no interest) so I don't know how well it drove. I saw the car
in the paper advertised for $12K (if memory serves) so to someone who wants an
auto it's probably worth trying to talk 'em down. The salesman hinted that
they'd accept lower than that (especially when he realized I knew what I was
talking about and that the TQ he'd been drooling over parked right behind the
200 was mine) so I think they have a hard time moving older cars out of the
lot. BTW, they also had a ton of A4's and A6's, Quattro & non-Quattro. Usual
disclaimers apply.
