Cool! Were the Lotuses there?
"Jesus Christ! Now what I have done!" -Hans Stuck
Was there another AUDI promotional film called "The Unfair Advantage"?
Or did I get my Hans Stuck quote from "The Secrets of Speed" and just
forget the title? Anyway, here is the story as it appeared in the film:
I can't remember what kind of race, but I think it was IMSA. Stuck was
talking to the camera about a move he was forced to make. Here is my
paraphrase. The only part that is word-for-word is the quote above, as I
made a point to remember it!
"I am coming over a rise while passing cars on my right. There is smooth
grass on the right of the track and Armco on the left. All of a sudden
there is a car stopped on the left side of the track. There is no room
to brake, so I move to the right, forcing another car onto the grass.
And I say to myself, 'Jesus Christ! Now what I have done!'"
BTW, why is his name not "Hans Stuck, Jr." or 'Hans Stuck II"?
Is that "just not done" in Germany?
