A4 and A6 drive

Quattrists,

I drove a new A4 at the dealer in Buffalo last week. Very nice
car. Very stiff chassis, very little torque steer, good steering
response. It had overassisted brakes, and steering. I did think that
the shocks were superb for an OEM application.

My employer has an new A6 for competitive analysis, so I drove it
a couple times this week. They bought a fwd with a 5-speed. I was
impressed by the 2.8 V6. It made good torque, and revved smoothly right
up to redline. I thought it was fairly refined. The shift was very
smooth and effortless. I did think the chassis was lacking compared to
the A4.

Does anyone know if the 2.8 V6 will bolt up to the transmission
in my '86 5KCSTQ? Yes, I liked it that much. (add a turbo, and it
should really go)
