Mike,
That's what I've heard also. As long as there are no cracks in the
insulation, and the resistance is acceptable/within spec, they're OK. I think
that is the way I will go when it comes time for me to start checking them. (
I have only 61k miles on my car so far.)
However, without a service manual, I'm not sure what is in spec. I guess I'll
cross that bridge when I get to it. (Is 15 ohms/foot a standard?)
