The A4
Hello everyone. I am in need of a new second car in the household, and so
I turned the only available alternative, the nearest VW/Audi dealership.
There I drove an Autumn Red A4 - fully equipped. 5 speed, quattro and all
the amenities that a heart could ever desire - some that I didn't even
desire. However, upon driving it, I rediscovered my love for this marque
of cars.
I felt a quality of performance (not the S4 kind of God's-hand-pushing-you
back-in-your-seat performance) that I had been overlooking on my own car.
I felt a build quality that feels like it surpasses ANYTHING on the market.
I saw a fluid shape that dared to be different without bouncing off the
padded-cell wall. I really liked the experience. And then, to break my
reverie, the dealer bursts my bubble and tells me the A4 is the (or one of
the) hottest selling German cars here in Canada, and that the entire
shipment had sold out exactly two weeks after shipment. There are none to
be had at this moment. Of course the possibility exists that he was
pulling my leg, but why would he so something like that? So, barring any
silly untruths, the A4 is one hot little seller.
So, without putting any more of you to sleep, I come to the point of this
whole thing, and that is: Do you people feel that Audi is on a definite
resurge? I can't say that I have been overwhelmed by the number of new
Audis driving around, but have noticed a significant increase.
Regardless, I feel the company deserves it. They put other companies to
shame with the way they take care of their customers, and with the joy they
give us by letting us drive their machines every day.
(no, this is not an ad. :-)
