One possibility is a bad fuel pressure accumulator, which is a valve for
keeping your fuel pressure up after the fuel pump is shut off. Maybe you
could monitor fuel pressure after shut-off and see if it gradually reduces
over the course of a few min/hrs? At least on 5000's, the thing is in the
fuel line underneath the car.
