Fuel in Air Filter housing

We'll I finally got around to replacing my O2 sensor yesterday (purely as a
preventative maint. measure at 85K miles ) and I noticed that there seemed
to be a fair amount of sludge in the bottom of the aire filter housing that
smelled like gasoline.

Is some leakage from the fuel distributor normal?

BTW - if you are going to replace your O2 sensor, you *must* buy the trick
socket that is available that has a slit in the side to accomodate the wire
lead. Given the force necessary to remove the old sensor with my Mr Destroyer
breaker bar I'd guess that I'd saved at least 3 knuckles from being shredded :-)
