TAP Chip-Good or Bad?

        	To all,
I know that this question has passed through before but any 
enlightenment would be appreciated. I am about to purchase a 1983 ur-
q which apart from being almost perfect contains a TAP chip and was 
wondering how much different it is from one of Neds Chip? Better or 
Worse? Any info would be appreciated.
