Tom, the squeaking you are hearing is the grounding contact
between the steering wheel and the steering column.  What you
need to do is simply remove the steering wheel at which time you
will see a brass flat ring at the base of the steering wheel. Get
yourself some electricaL grease (or use some of the grease that
is still around there) and smear some on the brass ring.  This
should solve your problem.. Feel free to call me if you want talk
