Not at all my point..... Figgrd if you had been here a while, you would know
that my direct, task oriented approach is my responses, always has been.....
There is no malice in that post, I am not the q-net member that will make
history with unsubstantiated opinions....... I don't make a habit of
insulting people on the net, in fact, I tend to do little of that...... The
point that I miss, and I assure you, you are not alone in this, is that
suspensions are not even close to complicated, certainly when you are
"lowering" and stiffening...... Why compromise when you are spending upwards
of 800 dollars on a suspension? There shouldn't be any..... And the
marketing strategies of the Eibach/SPAX/H&R/etc. seems to be that, "let us do
the engineering" attitude, and no one will bother to do their homework......
It pokes me a little when I go to a q-club event, and there sit 25-30
suspension kits on a 4k/5k that didn't do that "homework" on the whys and
whats for....... I have reread your and my posts more than a few times, to
find where I poked the fire, and frankly, I think you pointed out the obvious
flaws in the suspension, and didn't really seem to know why, but accepted the
compromise for fun....... And, for that I don't disagree, but know that you
can have that fun, and have a faster car, and not have to kick your kidneys,
by doing or having someone do some math.......

Hey, my skin (and head) are pretty thick, no need to apologize to me.......
Agin, I assure you the harangued part was not "at" you, it is the whole idea
that you have run 8years with a suspension "upgrade" that is fundementally
compromised from the get-go.... And you were not aware of it....... Doesn't
that deserve some fuel from someone that CAN explain those compromises and
effects? Maybe......
>Cool/Uncool
>That ad disgusts me too. I fail to see your logic on your remark though. I
mentioned >fun, not looks.
That's just the point tho....... Fun/Unfun argument to me is the same in
many ways.... Fun to me is building a suspension/engine/chassis that gives
me the most smiles (fun)for the least amount of compromises (unfun)......
You're having fun, it's clear from your post, the unfun part comes from
what you wrote about compromises..... You defined ackermann, toe out,
camber, and bumpsteer in your post without expressly pointing them out.......
If you look at my response, I identified in suspension terminology, what you
were compromising on........ Never one to discourage the fun, and actively
pursue and modify my compromises, that's how my mind works...... Reality
is, not everyone does that last step.... And to me that is what makes the
BTDT a help to the rest of the netsters..........

input.
.... And it's not what I meant, and my history of posts reflects that.......
Your post was worth the real world of lowering and stiffening, whether it
fulfills your needs or not..... There is the other side of the fence that
can help you and others understand what you are saying from a technical
standpoint..... My thinking is that you don't want to lose that on the net
either........... I didn't consider my post to be negative, more a call for
education, cuz for the kind of money that these "kits" get, it would take
about 4 hrs in your library to understand the Cool/Uncool marketing
scams......... Not sure any of my posts have intimidated folks not to post,
I just don't have that kind of power in my pentium..........

OK, so you enjoy the technical parts........
So, can we just continue to be one big (and ever growing) happy Quattro list
and enjoy our mutual admiration for these under appreciated fun cars? End.
Publicity is a good and a bad thing Kelly...... We will have more and more
folks joining in the next couple of months becuz of your earlier paragraph of
audi individuality..... This will create conflict by definition...... Ego
generates the bits to net....... And tho we would like to be a cohesive
happy family, reality can dictate otherwise....... I asked for no conflict
with you or others, but a techy is a techy, from that pespective is where my
id generates posts
No offense intended, rally on, and don't let me have the power to take your
fun away......
