        This is really a sad story but many of your problems don't seem to 
     be "Audi" related i.e. stolen radios, bent antennas, highway debris, 
     broken Kenwood etc.  I've owned an 86 Coupe since new and, other than 
     routine maintenance, it has been virtually trouble free.  I had the 
     broken brake light problem on both lights.  The heat from the lamps 
     causes a plastic rivet to melt and the contact seperates.  Next set of 
     brake pads get Repco metal masters.  ORganic pads are pretty 
     worthless.  I don't have the auto tranny or digital dash.  Can't help 
     you there.
