Your readings are normal, and don;t be concerned.
The "pumpability" of thinner oils (and 5-3o is very
thin), is much better.  The lower pressure reading
indicates that.

Conversely, the film strength of a synthetic will
hold up better at high temp/pressures.

BTW, I prefer thicker Mobil1, even in the winter.
The pour temperature of even 15-50 is very low,
as low or lower than dino 5-30s.

"desert research lab", reposted recently.
