I recently talked to a friend who has a P944 turbo, and he was reading 
his manual one day, which said (paraphrasing):

It's OK if the oil light comes on, and the pressure gauge drops to almost 
nothing after some hard driving, as long as the light only flickers and 
doesn't stay on.  Must be some sort of German car relationship...
