temp gauge (of course)

You all had to start talking about temperature gauges!  My '86 Coupe GT
must've heard you because it decided to have some fun with me.  Today,  while
I was doing about 85mph (in a residential area of course--just kidding) my
temp gauge --the dreaded digital dash--started to soar as the freeway started
curving to the right.  As I straighten out the wheel, the temp went back to
normal (actually one notch below normal).  Then as I exited the offramp which
cloverleaf-curves to the right the same thing happened until I straighten out
at the stop sign.  Is the engine really heating up when I make right turns?
 Or is there some other electrical gremlin snafu thang going on here? I await
your expertise...
