Rain-X for headlights?

While I was busy rubbing Rain-X on all of my windows this
weekend it occurred to me that it could be a good thing for
the headlights. They accumulate just as much if not more
grime than the windshield; unfortunately, the high-pressure
washers don't do that much good: the lights really need wipers
too.

So, I thought applying Rain-X might improve the effectiveness
of the washers by keeping the grime from sticking so well. But
I would be concerned about the heat factor. Will Rain-X fog or
do other not-so-nice things to hot headlights? The bottle doesn't
mention lights one way or the other... Anyone tried this?
