Re: Stereo service

Scott,

I don't know much about audis, but do know a little about audio.

Cassette player heads usually need to be cleaned and demagnetized, depend
on how often you use them. If you use them regularly as you driving your
car, do it at least every three to six months. But eventually the head
will worn out and you'll need to replace the head.

As regard to the abnormal speed when you put in the cassette, this is the
problem of the motor, has nothing to do with the head, and you can not do
anything except go to professional service.

>From your description, my guess is that you used the player a lot and the
head has been worn out. If the repair cost is more than half of the value,
go buy a new one.
