Richard, I'm in Colorado and my 83' TQC has a small two chamber
Flowmaster where the cat. converter used to be. Then it goes straight
down the tunnel to a 90 degree bend and out the side. It's real loud and
I wouldn't ever think of taking it to a emissions station, but it sing's
at high RPM's. I have experienced some loss of low end grunt, but the
whole car was built for high RPM operation. In case you wondering I live
in a part of Colorado that doesn't require emissions.

Happy motoring, Ben
