Castanets (sic) in my dashboard

hello-

On each of three recent jaunts in my 91 Coupe, a loud, steady, rapid
clicking can be heard from the dash, to the left of the steering column.
Its about 2-3 Hz, and sounds like a relay closing and opening repeatedly
and maddeningly.

Get this, tho. I noticed that when I used my turn signals, the clicking
alternated with the clicking of the signal blinker (the relay clicked only
in between blinker clicks!). The clicking also stops when either window
motor switch is depressed.

Ideas...?
