I've been trying to stay outa this thread, but you guys make it soooo
difficult...
By this argument, Porsche should have delivered the 3.2L Carrera motor
(1984-89) way back in 1963 when the car first appeared as the 901, or Chevy
should have had the LT1 or L98 corvette motors available way back in the 50s.
Remember that we see very limited motor (and other drivetrain option)
selection here in the US for any number of reasons, one of them being in
Europe and elsewhere in the world, different laws/policies make car
manufacturers (and other rational thinking humans) behave differently--such
as displacement or hp based taxation systems. come to think about it, we've
got a similar system here with our gas guzzler and luxury car taxes.
