Pounds to dollars?

On Monday I received a copy of Audi/VW Car (or something like that) in the
mail.  Looked like a cool magazine, think I wanna subscribe, but every single
thing in the magazine is written in pounds (that's what  a squigly L is right??
:-)  Anyone know the ratio of Pounds to dollars?  TIA!
