I know its a bit of comparing apples 'n oranges....

Car & Driver reported a "curb weight" of 3253 lb for my car (5kSQ/5spd) in
their 10/87 write-up...pretty close to your 3180.... how much does a turbo
charger weigh?????

You asked how much a gallon of Gas weighs... I'd guess about 7 lbs/gal (any
pilots out there know?).  Water is about 8 lbs/gal (1kg/liter =~2.2
lb/liter), gasoline slightly less dense.
