I installed one in my '85 4k at 5k miles and when I pulled the motor out at
168k to install a balanced-and-blueprinted motor from Techtonics Tuning, it
looked just fine.  In fact, I probably could have gotten away with a set of
rings and bearings rather than a full rebuild...

I've installed K&Ns in EVERY car I own and have yet to have any bad results
with them.  Highly recommended (so long as you're willing to keep 'em clean
and properly oiled).
