hey there....
  I am one of the 2 or 3 hundren lurking list members....i am out of the
closet now!!!! I have an A4 and also love it. Everything i have heard so far
on the board i agree with, great car, only a average engine. As far as your
stereo concerns go, I bought the standard stereo (i also agree with whoever
said that Bose spends more on advertising than development) I went ahead and
replaced the front speakers with ADS units, installed a 12" woofer in the
rear deck panel, an amplifier (also ADS) under the rear deck along with a
kenwood CD player that runs into the stock tape deck through the radio. This
whole set up cost approx. $1800 bucks installed. By retaining the stock deck
you do not invite theft (and besides it is a great deck).  My whole system
looks stock except for the CD controller which was mounted on the ashtray and
a grey cloth speaker cover on the rear deck (which looks stock to the Audi
ignorant). My point is, skip the Bose and the factory CD and you save about
$1300 bucks....my system sounds a bazillion times better and isnt a whole ton
more expensive than the stock stuff. 
   So, was that a post worthy of the list???   Jeez, i hope so!! If anybody
wants more info, give me a buzz....
