V8 Gotcha's??

Got a friend who's lookin' at a new Quattro.  He was lookin' at the S6's, but
due to the pain you have to go through to get one, he's about given up.  He did
find a nice '93 V8 though, with 50K on it.  Anyone know what to look for in a
car of this vintage and mileage?  All I know about he V8's is they're fast as
nutz, but that doesn't help him out much...  TIA for any tips, we'll be lookin'
at her tommorow!  (Which means I may be the new owner of a pearl '87 TQ by
Wednesday - VBG)
