Ken Bell wrote "the car was being advertised as a 4kcs, but it was an
automatic, thus definitely not a quattro (hence, according to the experts
here, not a CS either)."  
The CS designation is not necesarilly specific to quattros on the '87 4000. 
The prior "expert" post referred to the 5000 series and may in fact be
correct, so I did not challenge it.
