Speed limits

I feel sorry for you guys, stuck at good ol 55.

Over here 70 mph is the limit, everyone does 80, and if you do less  
than 100 you wont lose your licence (generally!). Between 80 and  
100, you can get points on your licence, and a proportionate fine to  
your disposable income (supposedly!).

Whats the punishment in the states???, from some of the posts, it  
sounds as if Radar detectors are commonplace ; whereas over here  
they are pretty scarce. I dont know anyone personally who has one.

Its interesting to see the difference in the two countries, and  
reassuring to imagine you guys trawling along at 55 (Only joking).
