I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with you. I personally have 
one of the 87' S.E.'s, the build date is 3/87 and I don't have the 
"knock" motor (wish I did though). I trust you when you say that, the 
white with red leather WAS availible in 87'. I just don't think that they 
were built as the commemorative edition for the last of the 4KCSQ's. I 
was under the impression that these were built in 86' (perhaps 87') to 
comemorate the hundredth anniversary of Audi and they built 1000 4K's and 
700 coupes. Once again that was my UNDERSTANDING. However, I do remember 
that Road & Track had a one page article, back in 87', that talk about 
the "last of the run 4K" and they described the car that I own. I have 
been told this from several different sources and I belive it to be true.
Oh well, it really isn't that important, I just thought that I would 
bring this info. to the table and if I am incorrect please let me know. I 
would love to hear why they built the S.E. that I have and what it 
comemorates.
