cv joint and temp gauge
unsubscribe quattro....just kidding!
Okay, I've mentioned this problem before but now here's a new twist to it
(plus I got zero response from you.) Today while driving 80 mph uphill with
the freeway curving to the right and a smile on my face, I looked down at
the temp gauge and it was flashing in the HOT, HOT, HOT zone (the list-hated
digital dash.) As the images of steam escaping from the hood and grinning
tow truck drivers filled my head and expletives shot from my mouth, the fwy
straightened and I slowed down and -voila!- the temp went back to normal,
actually one notch below the N. I noted in the past that the temp would go
up whenever I turned right and accelerated but it never went that high
before. It doesn't happen when I'm coasting to the right either. Is there
any connection to the fact that I need to replace my right front CV joint? A
few weeks ago it started clicking whenever I turn right and accelerate. Is
the engine really heating up or is it yet another Audi electrical snafu?
Thanx,
