Every year around Father's day the discount auto stores (Kragen, Grand, Pep
Boys for your ex.) have attache type tool kits with everything (including
diag cutters/wire strippers/vise grips) for around thirty bucks.  As I break
or lose pieces I replace 'em with Craftsman.   I usta carry 200# of tools
with me.  What I've found is that if I can't fix it with what's in my trusty
attache case, It ain't worth fixing on the road.  I've got a few bummer
stories, too....
