Just wanted to see if anyone has recently been/or is currently is in Germany
and have you ever rented or driven the German version of the 3 series (new)
four dour with the 1.6 liter engine? I am considering renting one in two
weeks, and am wondering how much of a *TOP* speed advantage it would have
over a A3 VW Golf.

I priced out an Audi A4 for a rental, but it was twice as expensive to rent!
(Although I may end up with an A4 if the company carries any)

I have driven the A3 Golf (which goes up to approximately 160kmp/h) and the
A2 (which had gone up to 180kmp/h, and in some cases, up to 220kmp/h) in past
rentals on the autobahn.

1990 Coupe Quattro, 65Kmi, cruising along!
1986 Chevy Caprice, 300K+mi, Back online! (after having the 4-bolt tranny
lock up on me, and totalling the tranny - bolts made a nice spiral pattern in
the flywheel?-or whatever they were attached to. Now have new tranny under
warranty! But almost wiped the car (and possibly myself) when it went on
me...)
