Stereo fix

I have a factory Audi/gamma stereo.  Two keys (the up/down) have worn out.
 Its hell driving down the highway, hit a bump, and have the system
automatically go up/down without stoping!  The local independent repair shop
specializing in factory systems wants $100-150.  I don't know how good the
systems are so don't know if spending that amount is worth it.  Does anybody
know a good way to rig or fix this myself?
