Have you ever heard the Wilson Audio WHOW (Wilson High Output Woofer)?  
-2dB at 16Hz.  Very low distortion design.  Can produce a 20Hz sine wave 
at more than 100dB with less than 10% distortion.  THE best subwoofer 
I've heard (then again, at $8000, it better be).
