Yea, a/d/s (disclaimer) makes what's called the.....well, now I've forgot 
what they're called!  They're a plate speaker with 2 6" woofers on them.  
They only need .5 cu. ft. of space to play, and they sound incredible.  
Two of these would do fine.  I heard one plate in a Porsche 911 blasting 
out the kick drum on the opening of KD Lang's Absolute Torch and Twang 
with such visceral impact you'd think it was a 12 in a 5 cu ft box, but 
it sounded clean and oh so tight.  They're cheap too.  They can be had 
for around $150.  You'd have to pay almost twice that with other 
manufactures to get the same sound.  They're hard to find, though.  
There's only one a/d/s dealer in the state of Washington, and they don't 
cary the plate, unfortunately.  They say it doesn't sell very well 
because people can't believe that such a small speaker could possibly put 
out such big sound.  Too bad.
