shock life - expereince??

Any wisdom on how long the shocks last
in these cars?  I've got 81k on mine,
and, amazingly, its still well controlled?

Experience on what to do when the dreaded and costly
time comes if I want a well-controlled ride, but
not too harsh?  Have you done springs?
Strut bearings?  Bushings (you know,
for that truly "independent" suspension) :-)
