Re: EPROMs & mods, etc.

I am 99% positive (only fools are positive :) that the IA mod, at least Stage
II, does alter the ignition timing. I was one of the first to upgrade to Stage
II and Ned was very interested to find out if I had preignition problems 'cause
he was concerned that the Stage II setup he gave me might have been too
aggressive for pump fuel (it works GREAT!). Ned told me that a discreet
resistor value is changed to alter retard as a function of boost. He also told
me that he would give me more info on what res values to use to get less/more
aggressive timing and/or retard as a function of boost. Also, he said I could
install a pot and make it infinitely adjustable. I plan to try this mod and
perhaps drill a hole in the CPU case to allow adjsutment with the unit ins
talled, though I have never followed up with him to get the componenet location
and value data. So, on Stage II anyhows, IA does improve the timing, but via a
discreet res value change, and possibly within the EPROM as well, but I cannot
confirm any EPROM changes yet.
