Check Valve Problem
A couple of days I posted a question about a check valve problem in a
1990 200 TQ, but got not takers!! Anyone out there have the same
experience with their check valve? Mine seems to leak fuel back to the
tank when ever the temp is < 5 F outside. The car starts fine when
cold, then fails to start after it is turned off for 15-30 minutes. It
will start, but only with 60-90 seconds of cranking. Audi put in at
least six new check valves while it was still under warranty. Now
winter is here again and the hard start begins. Solutions to the
problem seem to be 1) make the cold start valve manual so that I can
use it when the check valve has depressurized the fuel line, 2) fake
the temp sensor into thinking it is cold so that the cold start valve
adds fuel, or 3) provide a solenoid bleed valve on the fuel line so
that the pump will push gas up to the injectors. Seems like a lot of
work if there is another solution. Am I the only 200 TQ owner with
this problem?? Maybe there is a newer check valve with a better
polymer so that it doesn't deform and leak??? All suggestions
appreciated.
