Rear Light Switch

I'm not using the rear fog light switch (central dash mount, with
neato illumination when activated) for any rear light - and thought
it might make a good switch for a relay-actuated set of FRONT driving
lights - to compensate for the "sickly candle at 50-paces" headlights
in my 1990 200T.

I checked, and the switch activates nothing - there is no rear fog
light present on my car.

1) Any reason that fog light switch wouldn't be a good one to use for
the front driving lights? Sure would look nice!

2) Any particular trick to getting that switch out?

And another dash-related question:

I'm likely to pull the Bose radio, get the Crutchfield
harness/adaptor, and replace it with a decent Sony unit I happen to
have available. Any tricks to pulling the radio?

Thanks - and Merry Christmas!
