Re: 84 coupe brake light

     Rick:

If the 84 Coupe uses the same light cluster as my '86 try this.
Remove the module and disconnect the wiring harness. Visually inspect
the cluster. Look for melted plastic rivets. The tracks that conduct
from the connector to the lamp socket are held by compression. Over
the years the heat from the brake lamps will melt one or more of the
plastic rivets keeping the unit together. If you see any indication
of this drill a hole through the entire cluster including the track
somewhere near the melted rivet and secure it with a pop rivet. Both
of my stop lamps had this occur.
