Turbo Quattro Brake Rotors

Greetings fellow Audiphiles,

I am a new memeber to this group and have spent several hours perusing the
archives. This has been helpful as I have a problem with my Audi that I
have discovered is not atypical.

I have a 1991 200 Turbo Quattro. A very nice car that I have enjoyed immensely.
We have just turned 66K miles on the car. At about 58K we noticed a pulsing
in the front end when the brakes were applied. Several visits to a
mid-peninsula
(SF Bay area) dealer have finally diagnosed this as warped front rotors.
Yes, they are the very expensive internal rotors unique to this car and
early V-8s.

I have used the information from the archives to start negotiations with
our dealer. I have also called the Audi customer service line and asked for
Audi's assistance with the issue. Since this has occurred at the start of
the holidays, progress has been slow. As you night imagine, we have been
given the standard caveats that we are out of warranty, etc.etc.

In looking though the archives for this group, I have come across several
discussions on this issue and potential resolutions. I have not seen
anything from anyoned who has successfully resolved this by working with
their dealer and/or Audi. If anyone has had success getting this problem
resolved, I would like to hear from them.

Thanks in advance,
Oscar Murphy
