Well a good look at the EPA laws would educate you...... Yes you can modify
exhausts for track use, but that car cannot be registered to drive on the
street with it...... The OFF ROAD use only does not apply to the exhaust
systems unless you trailer the unregistered vehicle to the race.....
Found out some other stuff while researching this too...... Cats cannot be
removed under any circumstances, and a shop cannot repair any exhaust that
does not have a converter (that's supposed to), and can only perform work aft
of where it's location is supposed to be...... Cats cannot be repaired, only
replaced...... A car with a single exhaust cannot be fitted with a dual
exhaust, unless that specific engine/chassis app was available with it, and
then with the appropriate converter/s........ Low restriction exhausts are
technically illegal, but the gray area is the "routing" of a fabricated
exhaust must be the same as stock......
